Dedicated Community Member Who Supported the Growth and Success of Generations of Uniondale Students
UNIONDALE, NEW YORK (MARCH 2025)—The Uniondale School District mourns the loss of former Uniondale School District Board of Education Trustee Neville Georges, who passed at the age of 85. The Uniondale School District sends its deepest condolences to Mr. Georges’ family and friends and recognizes his remarkable impact on the Uniondale community. A resident of the Uniondale community for over 30 years, he enhanced the educational experiences of generations of students as a board trustee, Uniondale School District substitute teacher and PTA/PTSA Council member at Grand Avenue School, Lawrence Road Middle School and Uniondale High School.
Neville Georges began his tenure on the Uniondale Board of Education in 1999. He played an integral role in the development of the community advisory committee and was responsible for the introduction of a non-voting student position on the board, amplifying student input and engagement. He retired from the board in June 2020.
Mr. Georges is also the father of two Uniondale School District alumni and educators. Katrice Georges, Uniondale High School class of 1999, is currently a Uniondale High School math teacher, and Nicole Georges, Uniondale High School class of 2001, is a former Uniondale High School summer school teacher. Both attended Grand Avenue School and Lawrence Road Middle School as well.
Neville Georges was a graduate of the City College of New York and also served on the board of the Uniondale Community Land Trust. He was a member of the Baldwin Oaks Civic Association and a court-appointed child advocate.
