As we begin a new year, we have the opportunity to reflect on our progress and set new goals. Just as individuals reflect and recommit, our district is revisiting its strategic plan, Board of Education goals, and district priorities. Despite potential changes in state and federal educational policy, our commitment remains steadfast: ensuring every child feels safe, affirmed, and has access to a high-quality education that empowers them to succeed. We will continue striving for excellence and joy in our schools each and every day.
On Thursday, January 9th, our team is hosting a community Job & Resource Fair for participants 18+, college students and job seekers looking for entry level work. The Job &Resource Fair will take place at Nassau Coliseum from 4pm -6pm. All participants will receive two tickets to our Long Island Nets game, later that evening. Tip-of begins at 7:00pm. Superintendent’s brief - October 2024 “Each day offers a fresh chance to create meaning, purpose and joy.” Dr. Monique Darrisaw-Akil As our scholars are entering the second month of school they are settling into routines and creating the habits that will carry them throughout the year. It is important that we continue to foster the joy and excitement of the first day of school by maintaining a positive attitude, being prepared for school both physically and emotionally and challenging ourselves to keep going in the face of a challenge. It is the habits that we practice every day that will determine our degree of success. I encourage families to take some time and review your child’s habits and set a goal to practice one new positive school habit this month.
